Highway 89A/Bridgeport River Access Point

About

A river access point can be reached off Haydorn Lane (or South River Avenue on County maps) on the northwest side of the 89A bridge (*note that road is unmarked). Arizona State Parks owns a parcel next to the river, and boaters can follow a short 100 yard trail to the river’s edge. Parking is extremely limited (boaters are asked not to block the gate with vehicles), and the area is not formally opened to the public as a river access. During periods of low flows, Bridgeport is the beginning of the next boatable stretch of the Verde River below the Cottonwood Ditch diversion. Boaters should note that the more developed river access point on the opposite shore is private property and should not be accessed without permission.
