Historic State Bridge and Lodge

About

The historic lodge burned in 2006 and has been rebuilt for special events during the summer.  Remains of the old Dtate Bridge over the Colorado River, built in 1890, are still standing in the middle of the river. The bridge formed a pivotal crossing over the Colorado River, which helped with the development of North Park and the Yampa Valley regions in northwestern Colorado.  It is one of the oldest vehicular bridges in Colorado.  It was rebuilt after major floods in 1915 and 1917 and was replaced by the modern bridge in 1966.
